The designs are painted onto either 18 or 13 mesh Mono Zweigart needlepoint canvas. This is the best quality canvas. Each has been painstakingly stitch painted so there is no guesswork as to where to place your stitches. That is the beauty of handpainted needlepoint and the reason why you pay more for it. The designs are painted onto the canvas to reflect the way they should be stitched.

Each hand painted needlepoint canvas is a limited edition, and with many of these designs you will not find them anywhere else.

Hand painted needlepoint is certainly considered to be more exclusive than a printed design (like you would find in a needlepoint kit), but that does not mean it is necessarily easier to stitch. A hand painted needlepoint canvas often has a lot of shading painted into it. This can make stitching it a bit tricky if you haven't had some experience. You either have to have several shades of the same color at your disposal, or you need to blend shades together to get a variegated thread. Either way there is some judgement involved. Although there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to do this, novice stitchers sometimes find this difficult. If you think this might be you, avoid hand painted needlepoint canvas designs with a lot of shading or detail. Thankfully we have several designs on this page that meet both needs - detailed designs as well as more straightforward designs.

If you have not stitched a hand painted needlepoint canvas before then you have come to the right place. We have designs for all levels of stitchers, and we think our prices are among the lowest around. Be sure to let us know if this is not the case. We're not saying that hand painted needlepoint is affordable, exactly, but if you like a design on this page then we will kit it for you with some fun fibers or easy stitching yarns and we will keep the cost as low as possible.

New Handpainted Needlepoint Canvas Designed in London

These hand painted needlepoint canvas designs are based on kilims and they are painted slightly assymmetrically which is how a kilim actually looks when it is woven. They were designed by James Neill of London. Some experience is required to stitch these. Suitable for intermediate and experienced stitchers.

Returns Policy

It is important to us that you are happy with your hand painted needlepoint canvas purchase. We will accept returns within 30 days if the item is in no way damaged and is in its original, unopened packaging (where this applies). You will be refunded the full price paid for your item LESS shipping and the fees charged to us by Paypal. Orders cancelled before they are shipped will receive a full refund.

If for some reason you run out of thread/yarn, please contact us. We will happily supply small additional amounts of any color at no charge.
